Rankine Named APA Health Policy Scholar

Pitt Pediatrics congratulates Jacquelin Rankine, MD, PhD, for recently being accepted into the Academic Pediatric Association’s Health Policy Scholars Program! Rankine is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine and was also recently named the Assistant Director of the PhD Program in Clinical and Translational Science at Pitt’s CTSI

The APA Health Policy Scholars Program (HPSP) is a 3-year faculty development program designed to educate APA members on the development of a systemic and scholarly approach to health policy and advocacy.

Ultimately, through the HPSP, the APA aims to train and educate scholars for success in academic public policy efforts and advocacy through mentorship, networking, and project design. Over the course of the program, participants will develop a workshopped and cultivated advocacy portfolio, receive mentorship and networking opportunities, learn about related academic and industry policy, as well as have the opportunity to present and disseminate findings at a national-level.

Upon learning of her acceptance to the HPSP, Rankine expressed excitement for the opportunity to “build skills in health policy and advocacy and share these back with CHP and [the Pittsburgh] local community.”

Join us in congratulating Rankine of this wonderful accomplishment!
