Pitt Pediatrics congratulates Anna Wang-Erickson, PhD, for receiving the UPMC Competitive Medical Research Fund (CMRF) grant. Her application submitted was titled “Genomic epidemiology of human metapneumovirus in Pittsburgh from 2016-2020.”
$40,000 was awarded to Wang-Erickson and her co-investigator, John Williams, MD, which is above the standard amount given in normal cases. The intent of the CMRF program is to “provide funds for junior, independent scientist to develop the preliminary data and refinement of procedures and hypotheses that will enable submission of highly competitive applications to national funding sources.”
