Pitt Pediatrics Featured At Med Ed Day

The Academy of Distinguished Medical Educators (ADME) is a small group of faculty from various disciplines across the University of Pittsburgh that strives to recognize and reward excellence in education, advance education through innovation and professional development of faculty, and supports and promotes educational scholarship. Every year, the ADME, with the partnership of the University of Pittsburgh, hosts a Med Ed Day, where cross-disciplinary research across the University’s health sciences schools are celebrated and highlighted.

This year, the Department of Pediatrics enjoyed an outsized presence during the conference, with three different peer-reviewed workshops being led by faculty members Andy McCormick, MD, FAAP, Tony Tarchichi, MD, Kate Leyens, MD, and palliative care fellow, Hannah Reuman, MD

Maritza Harper, MD, a fellow in our Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine, also presented an exemplary poster regarding a synthesis of comprehensive summary statements for pediatric residents describing their educational experiences during the poster session. To the right is a picture of her working with John and Gertrude Peterson Dean of the School of Medicine and Senior Vice Chancellor for the Health Sciences, Anantha Shekhar, MD, PhD.

Congrats to our Department of Pediatrics faculty and trainees for a wonderful day of education and scholarship! The next Med Ed Day will be in September of 2024.
